The Sr. Director, People Operations is responsible for helping to find, develop, motivate, and retain the team at SonaCare Medical. They act as a champion for company culture and will support the company executives and team leaders, allowing SonaCare to develop and grow quickly. In this role, the Sr. Director, People Operations will be responsible for all human resources related activities.

As Sr. Director, People Operations you are responsible for helping us build and support this exceptional group of people and you will need to build processes that scale and support the Company as it grows, ensuring that all staff understand how people decisions are made.

People Operations will partner with all areas of SonaCare to help our team build and support their organizations. This will involve driving recruitment of the best talent, coaching on team leadership, helping to resolve employee relations issues, and managing programs that help develop staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:


Company Culture

Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution

Serve as an advocate and consultant for employees seeking advice within their career and department

Provide focus and leadership regarding organizational development, career planning, and performance management.

Create and maintain an engaging work environment that encourages employee understanding, participation, and contribution to the growth and health of the business.

Provide coaching and consultation to leadership on employee relations practices necessary to maintain a high level of employee retention and engagement.

Host engaging events to bring together employees from both offices and remote locations


Strategic Planning

Ensure all job descriptions and policies are up to date and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations

Create and maintain a compensation strategy for all employees based on market research

Provide useful data to help guide decision making and allow the company to scale effectively and efficiently



Work with Executive Team to develop near- and long-term hiring strategy based on current and projected needs

Manage recruitment process from job posting to onboarding, including maintaining a scalable, repeatable interview process that mitigates risks of unconscious biases

Work with Department Heads to create career progression for roles within the department, including creating job descriptions, identifying goals and competencies that trigger an advancement, and salary benchmarks.

Build processes aimed at talent development and retention, including manager training and development


Human Resources

Establish and maintain a competitive, comprehensive, and cost-effective employee benefits program

Direct the payroll process and related activities, such as payroll reporting and compliance for both US and UK operations, including multistate compliance

Manage annual performance management process, including 360 reviews of all Sr. Directors

Responsible for onboarding process of new employees, including facilitating and overseeing first 60 days’ of a new employees role to ensure the employee has the tools and training necessary to be successful in their role.

Prepares, updates and maintains HR policies and procedures for the organization.

Ensures that Company is compliant with required Federal, State and local regulations/legislation/employment law.

Functions as the SonaCare Medical Compliance Officer for the SonaCare Medical Code of Ethics.

Administers, interprets, and enforces Company policies and procedures and act as a resource for policy questions for field personnel and management.


Training Process

Host all classroom training on Company policies and procedures across all departments, including presentation of HR policies and coordination with Department Heads for department-specific trainings

Ensure presentations on file are updated and have the most-current information in them

Upload final presentations and recordings for all employees to have access

Send out classroom training sheets following training and audit sheets for completeness and accuracy

Responsible for maintaining certain quality system records such as employee Signature Forms.




 Hold a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience with proof of HR related qualifications and experience in best practices. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification a plus.

5-7 years of HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience working in a fast-paced environment, or an equivalent combination of graduate degree in law, Human Resources Management, or Psychology and HR management experience.

Show an ability to challenge conventional approaches and a willingness to build a unique (but still compliant) approach

Results oriented.

High business acumen/strategic orientation, influence leadership, change leadership

Proven leadership, self-confidence, and an established track record of accomplishments in changing and fast-growing business environments

A proactive and supportive management style that focuses on the training and development of employees at all levels.
